A peer marketplace for used powersports parts.
Custom-built two-sided marketplace where powersports enthusiasts buy, sell, and post ‘In Search Of’ listings for used parts across ATV, UTV, watercraft, and snowmobile categories. Routed through a partner agency.
Used powersports parts, stuck on forums.
Riders who needed a clutch for a 2008 sled or a track for a UTV were chasing leads across Facebook groups, classifieds, and PM threads. Sellers with parts to clear couldn’t find buyers. No trusted shipping, no escrow, no real way to verify anyone.
The agency client wanted to build a single home for the powersports parts community — a marketplace where both ‘I have this for sale’ and ‘In Search Of’ listings live side by side, with real identity, real payments, and a way to ship from any garage.
A two-sided marketplace, from schema to checkout.
Custom Next.js + NestJS marketplace with two listing types — For Sale and In Search Of — across ATV, UTV, watercraft, and snowmobile. Sellers verify identity through Stripe, buyers pay through Stripe, and Shippo generates labels for any address pair. Local-pickup is a first-class path, not an afterthought.
Search and category filters were tuned for how riders actually shop: by vehicle and brand first, by part second. Messaging keeps buyer and seller in one thread per listing. Power Seller and Power Buyer badges emerge from real activity — completed transactions, response time, ratings — not from a paid tier.
Two months, one team, every surface custom.
The agency owned brand and acquisition. We owned every line of code. Two engineers, eight weeks, custom data model designed for two-sided liquidity rather than retrofitted from a generic e-commerce platform. The result is a marketplace that reads as a community, not a Shopify clone.
